Your Investment

THE COSTS.

The Chicken Cottage franchise system is designed to give you everything you need to open a chain of successful quick service restaurant/s in your designated territory.

Whether you are an experienced hospitality professional or new to the industry, we will provide you with the training to run your business and for those capable of doing so, the ability to open multiple shops within an exclusive trading zone.

The Outlet Opening Fee for a Chicken Cottage is £15,000 + VAT.

Once a territory has been selected, a refundable deposit will be paid to reserve that territory for you. If you proceed, this will be deducted from the Outlet Opening Fee. If you choose not to proceed, this will be refunded less any reasonable costs incurred by the Franchisor.

For those looking to reap the benefits of entering a Multi-Site Franchise Agreement, concessions will apply to the Outlet Opening Fees, as you expand your network.

The initial Multi-Site Franchise Fee is £20,000 + VAT, which includes the Outlet Opening Fee of the first store.

All stores thereafter will incur an Outlet Opening Fee of £5,000 + VAT.

ESTABLISHMENT COSTS

There are also several other costs to consider, such as leasing and setting up your site, hiring or purchasing equipment, etc. These costs vary from location to location, but we have prepared a detailed breakdown basis our current outlets which we are happy to discuss further with you.

In our initial meetings, we will discuss the all the relevant costs you will need to take into consideration when establishing your Chicken Cottage store. From leasing to legal, and equipment to construction, we will provide guidance on the total investment required.

Overall, we estimate the total set-up cost per store (including franchise and legal fees), to be between £120k to £250k based on location, size and condition of unit, with the average outlet at 1500 sq. ft. We therefore recommend that you raise at least £90k – £125k as liquid capital.

ONGOING COSTS.

There is one ongoing Royalty Fee paid to the Franchisor, which is 6% of turnover less fees paid to third-party delivery partners.

This fee covers the ongoing operational support of a Franchise Business Manager, conducting regular visits and audits on your store, as well as offering feedback and suggestions to drive revenue and profitability. We don’t charge an additional Marketing or Advertising Fee but franchise partners will still enjoy the benefits of our national brand and marketing campaigns & initiatives, which build brand awareness and drive traffic to the stores.

Concessions on Royalty Fees may apply for those entering a Multi-Site Franchise Agreement.

PROJECTED EARNINGS.

Exactly how much you can expect to earn from your franchise can vary a great deal, of course, depending on a variety of factors such as the cost of premises in your area and the footfall in your location.

While we will give you everything you need to get your business up and running – the model, the products, and the expertise – how much you can earn does ultimately come down to you, and the amount of hard work and commitment you are willing to put into your new business.

As such, these figures are for illustration purposes only, and are not intended as an indication of how any individual unit may actually perform. We always recommend that potential franchisees seek independent financial advice, so that we can both be sure that we are entering into a fair and equitable business relationship.

However, a typical Chicken Cottage outlet which has established itself in the local area can expect to turnover in the region of £10k-£20k per week. With this turnover, you can reasonably expect a return on your investment from just one site within 18 – 30 months, dependent on property costs and how well the business is managed.

As part of the process, we are happy to share full CAPEX and projection figures with you once you enquire.
